Established mid-COVID, in 2021, m.simons is a gallery space in Amsterdam's historical city center. The gallery is mainly focused on painting and prints since 1989. Though as artistic practices are becoming increasingly interdisciplinary, the gallery also accomodates various other media, such as photography and sculpure.
Prior to establishing m.simons, the gallery owner, Michiel Simons, held various positions in the Amsterdam arts scene. He ran MISCHKIN with Doeshka Vrede, an independent publisher of prints, he was gallery director at Willem Baars Projects and LionelGallery and worked with institutions such as Kunstmuseum The Hague and the Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam as well as international galleries such as Luhring Augustine, New York and Gallery Yamaguchi kunst-bau in Osaka.
